JPG - 2mb * 1000 [2000mb = 2gb]; 150,000mb [150gb] @ 75k
TIFF - 130mb * 1000 [130,000mb = 130gb]; 9,750,000mb [9.75tb] @ 75k
RAW (ARW uncompressed) - 130mb * 1000 [130,000mb = 130gb]; 9,750,000mb [9.75tb] @ 75k
PSD - 190mb * 1000 [190,000mb = 190gb]; 14,250,000mb [14.25tb] @ 75k
- these calculations are 1 photograph = 1 image (no verso, no close-up shots, etc.)
presuming at least 2 scans per photograph, that’s 300GB for JPEGs, approx. 20TB for TIFFs, approximately. 20TB for RAW files, and approx. 30TB for PSD. I recommend selecting either RAW files or PSDs to store in the DAMS (both can be stored in Google Drive for posterity), but not both—preferably the RAW file due to slightly smaller footprint and accessibility to an unmodified file. Assuming (1) file at its original quality and (2) exported files, an approximate amount of storage space needed would be 40-50TB. If original files are not stored in the DAMS, then needed storage space would be around 25-30TB.
If they want nitty gritty details, the JPG files are approximately 2MB each, TIFF approx. 130MB, ARW uncompressed RAW files approx. 130MB, and PSDs approx. 190MB.
